DescriptionBlown three-mold colorless lead glass tumbler with a plain rim, tapered sides, and a shallow kick with a pontil mark on the bottom. The tumbler was formed by blowing glass into a three-part mold with three bands of geometric patterns. The first band, beginning about an inch below the rim, consists of narrow, vertical flutes. The second band consists of diamond diapering. The third band also consists of narrow vertical flutes. The bottom is decorated with a pattern of impressed diamonds, with the pontil mark in the center. There is a crack in the glass, circling a portion of the bottom edge of the tumbler. There are some scratches and some light wear on the bottom edge of the tumbler.

Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
