DescriptionGrey, ovoid, salt-glazed stoneware jug with a plain rim, two incised lines circling the neck, an ovoid shoulder and body, and a flat bottom. The remnants of a cork remain in the rim and neck of the jug. A pulled strap handle connected the neck with the body of the jug at one time, although now the handle is broken; only a remnant of the top of the handle remains. A small amount of hand-painted cobalt blue decoration circles the base of the handle. Opposite the handle is an impressed mark, "GOODWIN/ &/ WEBSTER/ HARTFORD". The jug is an uneven grey color with the scattered remnants of an unknown brown substance dripping down the front and sides. There is light crazing over all the exterior glazed surfaces of the jug, and a slight brown discoloration to the lower left of the handle.
