DescriptionTrivet consisting of a white earthenware tile with a thin, square sheet of cork adhered to the back. The trivet is decorated with a printed scene in blue, green, orange, and black enamels. The scene shows a blue waterfall, orange-brown rocks, and green trees inside an orange border. Superimposed over the orange border is the title, "TOWN OF NEWINGTON CONNECTICUT INC. 1871 SEAL" above and, "GROWTH & PROGRESS" below. All elements of the seal are outlined in thick black enamel lines. Below this seal is, "NEWINGTON CENTENNIAL/ 1871-1971" printed in orange enamel.
