DescriptionSmall, round stoneware jar with a salt glaze and cobalt blue decoration. The squat, ovoid jar has a small neck and a flared, flat rim. To one side, below the neck, are a group of twenty-one cobalt blue dots arranged in an inverted triangle. Opposite this is the date, "1790", hand-written in cobalt blue. A series of concentric curved lines and ovals covers the bottom of the jar. Portions of the glaze on the jar have been interrupted by projecting stoneware or some sort of yellowish glaze-like substance; this probably occurred at the time of manufacture.
