The notation from the backing of the frame is in the accession folder.NotesSubject Note: A pencil inscription on the back of the frame identifies the sitter as "Lydia S. Bulkeley / grandmother of Mrs. J.H.K. Davis". Lydia Smith Morgan married Judge Eliphalet Adams Bulkeley. Their granddaughter, Edith Hollister Brainard, married John Henry Kelso Davis. Date Note: According to a similar image, the photograph was taken when the subject was 80 years old. Her birthdate was 7 October 1806. Printed on verso of the cabinet card is " '95 "; as the subject died in 1894, this may be a copy or reprint of an original portrait. (Lee 2/17/2005)
