DescriptionTwo cylindrical, lidded earthenware drug jars. The body of each jar and lid is made of white earthenware with a blue slip applied around the body of the jar and the top of the lid. Each lid, shaped like a wide, inverted, flared cone with a vertical rim, has a small disc-shaped blue and white finial in the center. A large chip is missing from one of the finials (.23b), revealing the layer of blue slip over the white earthenware. The other jar (.22a,b) has crazing on the inside of the lid and some losses to both the blue and white surfaces of the lid on the rim. There is some crazing on the inside and outside of the lid (.22b).
