DescriptionGlazed porcelain bell with hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue decoration. The bell is shaped like a cowbell: triangular in profile but with two long sides. One of the long sides is decorated with a landscape of three houses in a field, with trees or brush in the background and two larger trees in the foreground. The other long side shows a branch with flowers and leaves. There is a handle on the top of the bell, consisting of a loop of porcelain that extends inside the hollow bell. The loop is painted blue on the side of the bell with the landscape, and left white on the opposite side. Inside, a short yellow ribbon holds an unglazed porcelain clapper that extends just past the height of the bell.
