He is wearing a jacket, trousers, vest, white shirt, and bow tie. He has a full beard and moustache. Arthur Filley is perhaps around five years old. He is wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with a darker tunic over it. The tunic's sleeves are trimmed with braid or ribbon. His collar is wide and has rounded edges. Theoline is older, sitting on her father's knee. She is wearing a dress with a wide, low neckline. The fabric is dotted.
