DescriptionNinth-plate ambrotype of Lydia Augur Burgess. She is young, possibly in her teens or early twenties. She is wearing a dark dress bodice with a row of buttons that ends halfway down. A scallop-edged lace collar is fastened at the throat with a brooch. Her hair is parted in the middle, pulled back, and fastened with ribbons.
