DescriptionBlack and white photograph by United Press International (UPI) photographer Frank Lorenzo with typed caption.

Caption: HFP031602-3/16/60-HADDAM, CONN.: Billy, a sad-eyed basset hound sports a large bump on his head three weks after his misadventure. A cool cloth applied by the owner, Mrs. George Blasius of Haddam, helps Billy forget the fractured vertebrae received in a tangle with a R.R. train. This only started his troubles as a trainman thought he was putting the dog out of his misery when he hit him with a hammer and has since been arrested, 3/15, for the act.
