DescriptionSword with sheath originally belonging to General George Malpus Cole. There is an acorn tassel attached to the handle. The blade has etched decoration. One side has a shield and an eagle with the phrase, "E. PLURIBUS UNUM."

The Connecticut Museum has Gen. Cole's military uniform (1953.56.1-.21) in its collection. The Connecticut Museum also has a photograph of Gen. Cole wearing his military uniform and holding this sword (1953.56.22a-e).
