DescriptionA young girl sits at the bottom of a small, grassy hill. She wears a dress with bell sleeves trimmed with bows. A separate bodice with a V-shaped neckline is worn over a shift. Her hair is in braids, which are coiled on either side of her head and fastened or decorated with leaves. Her left hand encircles a rabbit, to which she feeds leaves with her right hand. Three additional rabbits are at the right. A fifth rabbit is at the left near a straw hat containing carrots. The large structure at the right with a picket gate is presumably a rabbit hutch. Trees are in the left background.
