DescriptionWWII Bronze Star Medal awarded to Dennis T. Bosio, Sr. in original box consisting of the (a) medal, (b) service ribbon, (c) lapel button, and (d) case. A (e) letter dated September 12, 1944 awarding the Bronze Star Medal to Bosio is stored in the manuscript collection (Ms 102205).
(a) The medal is a bronze five point star with a raised center star in the center of the medal. It has a red silk ribbon with a blue center stripe surrounded by two thin white stripes. On the back is raised letter text and an engraved inscription, "HEROIC OR MERITORIOUS ACHIEVEMENT."
(b) The service ribbon is a red silk ribbon with a blue center stripe surrounded by two thin white stripes.
(c) The lapel button has a red background with three vertical white stripes on both ends.
(d) Original box with "BRONZE STAR / MEDAL" printed in gold on top of cover.
