DescriptionAn elderly man with a beard and mustache is seated in a dungeon surrounded by lions. He wears a long cloak or robe over a long-sleeved shirt or tunic and short boots. His hands are raised, as if in surprise. A wicker basket, containing leaves and a small oval object, possibly a loaf of bread, is at the right. Two bones are nearby. A male lion is seated at the left. A second lion lies behind him. A third male lion is in the background, beneath one of the stone arches of the dungeon. Iron grilles occupy the three arched openings that are visible. An angel is seated at the upper left, above the arches, pointing upwards with his right hand, and gesturing downwards with his left. Rays of light break through the clouds between his wings. A tall stone building is in the right background.
