DescriptionView of a cased photograph depicting a middle aged man. The man is looking off camera to the right and is grasping the hair on the top of his head with his left hand. He is wearing a shirt, vest and jacket with a string tie. His eyes are light colored and he has a beard. The case has an oval depression around the image area and a scrollwork pattern around the outer edges. The case is lying on a woven material. There is a stain on the material, below the bottom edge of the cased image.

The photograph has been cut with a thick black border along the top edge and a thin one along the bottom edge.
