An elderly woman sits in a chair on the top step, with a middle-aged woman that could be Electa Cheney Goodman (1821-1903) standing to the right of her. There is a younger woman sitting on the edge of the step below them, on the left, and a boy sitting on the right. A small dog is laying on a lower step between the young woman and boy. NotesDate note: Estimate based on life dates and approximate age of subject in photograph. Electa Woodbridge Cheney was the daughter of George Cheney and Electa Woodbridge. She had eight older brothers, some of whom founded the Cheney Brothers silk business. She married Richard Goodman in 1845.
