DescriptionFive separate illustrations of a small sponge. The upper two diagrams are labeled: "Fig. 1" and "Fig. 2". Individual spicules are labeled "a" "B" "d" "e" "f" and "g". Fig. 1 shows two small, possibly microscopic sponges. Fig. 2 and the two lower diagrams show presumably larger sponges attached to rocks. Arrows adjoining Fig. 2 indicate the flow of water through the sponge.
