DescriptionView of the hall and staircase in Philip Cheney's home in South Manchester, Connecticut, after it was renovated in the 1920s. In the foreground there is a long table with a vase of lilys on it, next to a tall statue of a crane. Behind them is the staircase, which has a carpet runner and decorative banister. The bottom half of the wall, next to the staircase, is molded paneling. The upper half is covered in wallpaper that depicts an outdoor scene. A hexagonal lantern chandelier hangs down from the ceiling on the right.
