DescriptionThree-quarter length studio portrait of Lucy Compton Street as a young woman. She is standing with her body angled to the right but is looking at the camera. Lucy is wearing a dress that is buttoned all the way down the front. There are large, dark ruffles at the cuffs and in a strip that runs up one side of the front of the dress, around the back of her neck, and down the front on the other side. Lucy is also wearing a feathered hat and a pair of gloves. Her hands are folded in front of her and she is holding a small purse. There is a faint outline of a tree on the backdrop in the background and Lucy is leaning against a small architectural prop.
