DescriptionThree-quarter length studio portrait of Colonel Louis Richmond Cheney. He is seated in profile, facing to the left. Louis is wearing a full Governor's Foot Guard uniform, which includes epaulets, a sash, medals, white gloves, and pants that have buttons near the outer seam. His arms are resting on the arms of the chair. He is holding the hilt of a sword, which is pointing down, in his left hand. Louis has a moustache and goatee. His hair is a mix of dark and gray.
