DescriptionFramed painting attributed to John Trumbull. The central figure is the Madonna wearing a dull red dress, holding the Christ child on her lap, her arm around him. Behind her at the right in the shadows stands Joseph. Kneeling at her left is the boy John dressed in an animal skin, and his mother Elizabeth is behind him wearing a dull red dress.
