DescriptionPortrait painting of Sarah Coit Day (Mrs. Thomas Day) by an unknown artist. She is about 50 years old. She is wearing a dark dress with a greenish-brown edge, and what appears to be a separate item of clothing that is white and goes up to her neck. She is also wearing a white bonnet tied with a blue ribbon under her chin. Her hair is parted in the middle and pulled back; only the front is visible under the bonnet.
