NotesBiographical Note: Deacon Joseph “Joe” Hudson Sr. (1918-2022) was a longtime Deacon and member of the Second Baptist Male Chorus, singing with that group in church and also as part of the Big Seven group of gospel choruses in central Connecticut. In his later years Joe was a regular weaver at the Hartford Artisans Center in Hartford, and always served as a strong creative force in his community. CCHAP presented the Second Baptist Male Chorus at concerts and recorded the group for the 1998 CD “Sounds Like Home” and later displayed some of Joe’s weavings and paintings in the 2014 exhibition “Warmth and Creativity.”Additional materials exist in the CCHAP archive for these artists.
