DescriptionWoman's bathing suit of rust-colored, machine-knit wool, trimmed with stripes of gray and rust. The suit has a sailor collar of the striped wool and a lace-up front opening, with a white silk or synthetic fiber tape lacing, which is probably a replacement. The edges of the front opening are lined with red twill-woven cotton. The striped wool is also used for the short sleeves, which are wider under the arm (2 1/2 inches) and taper to the shoulder (7/8 inch). The bathing suit top extends in a short skirt over the attached bottom, which has legs ending above the knee. The leg openings have a gray ribbed binding, 2 3/4 inches wide. The bottom of the skirt is trimmed with the gray and rust striped wool. The sides of the skirt are open for 8 1/4 inches, with the edges connected by two narrow bands of gray wool.
