NotesSubject Note: The Connecticut Irish Festival, the longest running in the United States, developed out of the New Haven Gaelic Football and Hurling Club “feis” held since 1966 to showcase Irish language, music and dance. Now a program of the Irish American Cultural Center, the festival presents contemporary music along with a traditional feis featuring music and stepdance competitions in Irish language on Sunday. Other activities during the Festival include a dart tournament, Irish bread competition, ceilis, food sales, and exhibits of the community’s history.
