DescriptionBlack and white photograph of Ruth Cheney Goodwin and Booker the dog on a porch in Marlborough, CT. The photograph was taken during her wedding trip in 1912. Goodwin is seated on a bench with her hands on Booker. She is wearing a white shirtwaist and an ankle-length skirt. Her dark hair is worn in a pompadour with a topknot at the crown of her head. Booker, the dog, is black with a white chest and is seated on the wooden planks of the porch. A window and the ceder-shingled wall of the house occupy the background of the photograph.
