DescriptionBlack and white mounted photograph of John Singleton Copley’s undated oil painting, “Portrait of Jabez Bowen.” The photograph provides a black and white view of Copley’s half-length, seated portrait of Jabez Bowen, Sr. (1739-1815). Bowman is depicted possibly in his military uniform having served as a militia colonel in the American Revolution. There is a 5 cent stamp affixed to the reverse of the mount.
