DescriptionSmall boy's dress of fine, plain-woven wool, printed with blue stripes alternating with stripes of red and brown circles on a cream-colored background. The dress has a very wide neckline defined by a band of self-fabric with a piped edge. The bodice is pleated into this neckline band and into the waistband, which is 7/8 inch wide. The short sleeves are pleated into the armscye, which is not piped as would be generally expected. The sleeve edge is trimmed with a ruffle made with a blue and black striped silk ribbon. The full skirt is gathered into the waistband. A 1 3/8-inch-wide tuck is taken around the skirt, about mid-way down its length. The center back opening extends 8 3/4 inches and fastens with hooks and eyes. The bodice is lined with tan twill-woven cotton. The sleeves are lined with pale blue plain-woven cotton.
