DescriptionSmall boy's dress of blue and white plaid wool, trimmed with black velvet ribbon. The dress has a high, round neckline with a piped edge; three rows of narrow black velvet ribbon are stitched in a V-shape below the neckline, extending over the shoulders to form a V at center back, also. The long, two-piece sleeves are trimmed with two rows of velvet ribbon around the wrists. The skirt is flared and edged with a self-fabric, knife-pleated ruffle, headed by three rows of velvet ribbon. The ribbon turns vertically and extends for about seven inches alongside the skirt seams at both front and back. The center back opening extends eleven inches and fastens with metal hooks and eyes (some are brass, others are ferrous metal enameled black). The dress is lined tan glazed cotton in the front and plain white cotton in the back.
