Co./ HARTFORD"NotesObject Note: "This tin marker of the City Insurance Company is one of those used in the early days by various insurance companies to mark the houses which were insured by them. It was usually nailed over the front door. Some were tin, like this, others were cast iron, and some were quite elaborate, with pictures of fire engines or other emblems on them."
