DescriptionThis ivory dress has accordian-style pleating (3/8-inch deep) sewn into an empire-style waistline. The short sleeves are 6 1/4 inches long. The plain-woven silk self-fabric used for them is gathered at the armscye to create a puffed effect, and then again four inches from the armscye to create a second puff. The sleeve opening is finished with a gathered fine plain-woven ivory silk gauze. The same gathered gauze is used to cover the remainder of the bodice at the front and back of the dress.
