DescriptionSmall trunk covered with dark brown leather trimmed in Moroccan red leather attached with round brass tacks and lined with blue paper. A woodcut paper label attached to the lid of the trunk shows a mounted soldier (militia?) with his saber drawn. The initials "EHL" have been stencilled on the underside of the trunk.

MarkingsPrinted label affixed to the inside of the lid: "Ebenezer Alling, / Saddle, Harness, /Trunk and Cap-Maker / No. 62 Chapel Street, / (Fronting the Green,) / New Haven." Stencilled in black ink on the underside of the trunk: "EHL".
