DescriptionA man with a beard and mustache is seated in an armchair with his legs crossed. He is wearing a coat, vest, shirt, and trousers. His ankles and feet are not visible. In his right hand, he holds a newpaper entitled: "New York Tribune". At the left, roll of paper and a book are on a table covered with a tablecloth. A map inscribed "MAP OF / KANZAS [sic]" hangs on the wall at the left.
