DescriptionFour black and white photographs taken after the fire that destroyed St. Joseph Cathedral in on Farmington Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut, on December 31, 1956. One image shows ice coating the nearby trees and street, with a fire truck and hose in the background. Two images show close ups of the damage, and one shows the church in the distance, looking like a skeleton. St. Joseph is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford. A new building was dedicated in May, 1962.
