DescriptionBoy's jacket of dark blue velvet, with a below-hip length and slightly flared cut. The high, rounded neckline is bound with dark blue silk tape. The long, straight coat sleeves are bound at the wrist openings with the silk tape. The jacket opens for the length of the center front, and originally fastened with ten buttons, but these are now missing. The back of the coat is vented at the center back and side-back seams. The coat is lined with tan twill-woven cotton in the body and sleeves. The bottom edge is lined with black twill-woven silk for a depth of about 3 3/4 inches. Black silk also lines the opening edges.
