DescriptionMan in patched leather clothing consisting of a leather shirt, jacket, trousers, boots and hat. The stitches holding the leather pieces together are clearly visible. He sits on a bench, apparently in an interior and appears to be eating. A large leather bag is on the floor at the right.

NotesSubject Note: The homeless tramp known as the old Leatherman wandered a circuit between the Connecticut River and the Hudson River from 1858 to 1889. He has been identified as Jules Bourglay, originally of Lyons, France.
