Gildersleeve Jarvis was a Hartford physician whose home and doctor's office were at 98 High Street. He was born in Portland, Connecticut and attended Middletown High School and Yale University before obtaining his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University. He served as a first lieutenant during World War I in a neuro-surgical unit that performed operations near the battlefront. He was living on Ledyard Road in West Hartford when died in 1968 at the age of 85..
