DescriptionA view of the green in Cheshire, Connecticut. At the left, women are on the steps of a church with a portico and a steeple. A stagecoach and two carriages are being driven rapidly through town. A dog runs after one of them. A two-wheeled cart is stopped at the door of a building at the far left, which may the tavern whose sign is on the green near a flagpole flying a large American flag. The large rectangular sign reads "L. MUNSON'S / HOTEL." Two women stroll beneath the sign. Two men stand by a rail fence at the far right. Leafy trees are scattered about the green.
