Electric light bulbs with shades are on the pole in the left foreground. A street lamp in the center appears to be a gaslight. Brick commercial buildings, many with striped awnings, are on both sides of the street. Signs on businesses read: "East Side / Millinery / 210" "Shoes / and / Rubbers" "Â…nberg Bros. / Furniture." A sign at the far right reads: "Hot /Soup / 12 to 1." A street sign on the corner of the building reads: "Morgan St." Horse-drawn wagons crowd the street in the background.
