Object number2012.284.5646
NotesSubject Note: The SS John W. Brown is a Liberty ship (cargo ship) used in World War II. After her service as a troopship during the war and immediately after, she served for a short time as a cargo ship. From 1946-1982, she served as a training ship for New York City's Metropolitan Vocational High School. In 1982, she assumed her new role as a museum and cruise ship and is berthed in Baltimore, Maryland.

Polaroids 2012.284.779-793 depict the exterior and interior of the ship, and were likely made at or around the same time as the drawing.

Date Note: The early date is based on the year the Polaroid SX-70 camera was available, and the late date is based on the year the ship moved from New York City to Baltimore, Maryland.
