DescriptionAt the entrance to a barn or shed, two men pose with sheep that they are shearing. The man at the left has a beard and holds hand-held sheep shears. Two bundles of fleece tied with string are beside them. Men in suits look on. A man at the far left is wearing a bowler hat and smoking a cigar. Inscribed on back: "1. J.B. Palmer, Lisbon / 2. P.G. Tripp, Rockville / Sheep shearing contest / near Middletown / May or June 1909."
