Now known as The Winchell Smith Mill. Used to bag and store his flours."NotesSubject Note: Winchell Smith (1871-1933), a noted playwright, owned this mill site. In the 1920s, D. W. Griffith and Company filmed a scene in the movie "Way Down East" here at the invitation of Smith. The mill was subsequently used as a restaurant and bookstore.
