DescriptionWoman and child in front of a two-story brick house with a one-story wing at the left. The child, apparently a small girl, is standing on a platform that seems to rest on the top of the picket fence. A second woman wearing an apron, possibly a maid, stands in the background by the door. There is bench on the lawn and a white limestone (?) path leading from the door to the gate in the fence. The two trees in the front yard appear to be spruce trees.
