DescriptionThe steep trap rock cliffs of West Rock are on the right, with the village of Westville at its foot. The road that leads steeply downhill in the foreground later became Whalley Avenue. It crosses the West River on a bridge. Most of the houses of Westville lie beyond the bridge. The "Congregational Ch[urch]" and the "Methodist Ch[urch}" are identified by notations. Details of the Congregational Church and two other buildings are above the main drawing.
