NotesSubject Note: John Cooke built a tavern in Plainville, Connecticut, in 1789 that was also used as a stagecoach stop and blacksmith shop. As of 2002, the building is occupied by J. Timothy's Taverne restaurant.

Technique Notes: Image is a photograph of a cut-paper silhouette. The original silhouette probably dates to ca. 1800.
