DescriptionThis is a photograph of a drawing, pencil or charcoal. A man and a woman are seated together on higher ground which overlooks a beach at the ocean. Their heads are together and they lean into one another as they face toward the artist. The man wears a vest, trousers, and shoes. He holds a satchel in both hands. The woman is in a long dress, and she also wears a shawl on her shoulders. In the background, the beach, ocean, an empty lifeguard chair, a large ocean-front building with a flag on its cupola, and a dock and boat are visible. The drawing is signed by C.D. Gibson and its title is "The Last Day of Summer".
