DescriptionThis photo pictures a spurious "PILOT'S LICENSE" which has been attached to a wooden box. The license is "issued to [blank space for a name] hereby certifies that he has fully developed as a first-class pilot on the troubled "Sea of Booze" and then goes on for several additional sentences. The license has a seal and has multiple signatures at its bottom.
Object number1995.36.1650
NotesSubject Note: This comic document is a fake maritime pilot's license, not an aircraft pilot's license. Maritime pilots guide ships in and out of harbors and other areas with local navigational hazards. The reference to the "Sea of Booze" suggests that this is the sort of pilot intended.
