DescriptionThe Horace Wells monument in Hartford's Bushnell Park features a bronze statue of Wells on a high plinth. The following is carved on the statue's pedestal: "HORACE WELLS / THE DISCOVERER OF ANAESTHESIA / DECEMBER 1844." In the background is Jewell Street and the Plimpton Hills building.
