Woodruff was from Harwinton, Connecticut. On May 23, 1863 he enlisted and was mustered into the First Regiment Connecticut Volunteer Heavy Artillery Company C as a First Lieutenant. On April 14, 1864 he was promoted from First Sergeant in Company I to Second Leiutenant. On November 19, 1864 he was promoted to First Leiutenant and on April 9 1865 he was promoted to Captain by brevet. He was mustered out on September 25, 1865. (Ruocco, 04/14/2012)On View
