He enlisted, and was mustered into the Seventh Regiment Infantry, Company A as a Private on September 5, 1861. He re-enlisted on December 22, 1863. He was promoted to Corporal on April 6, 1864. In May of 1864 he was killed at the Battle of Drury's Bluff, Virginia. (Ruocco, 04/21/12)
